Privacy Policy

Stumpymonster.com is a private website operated by Max Benedict for Stumpfest, an annual private gathering of friends and family. It is not a commercial product. The site exists to let invited guests RSVP, see event details, browse past-year photos, and sign a recreational-activity waiver. There is no public registration; access is limited to people who have received a personal invitation from the host.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Phone numbers and SMS opt-in data collected on this site are used solely by the host (Max Benedict) to send Stumpfest event communications through our SMS provider, Twilio. Information shared with Twilio is limited to what is necessary to deliver a text message to your phone; Twilio and your mobile carrier do not receive this information for their own marketing use.

How you opt in. SMS opt-in is collected through an explicit, unchecked checkbox on the Stumpfest RSVP form. To enroll, an invited guest must (1) enter their mobile number, (2) read the consent statement displayed beside the checkbox, and (3) tick the box to affirm consent. The exact consent text shown at the time of opt-in is snapshotted into our audit table so we always have a per-guest record of the wording they agreed to. Message frequency. We send a low volume of messages per recipient — approximately 2-4 messages per year (initial invitation, optional reminder, day-of details, and any event-critical updates such as weather changes or activity timing).

Costs. Message and data rates may apply. Carrier charges are your responsibility. We do not control how your mobile carrier bills you for SMS messages.

Opting out. Reply STOP to any Stumpfest text message at any time to opt out. Reply HELP to receive contact information. You can also email benedictmt@gmail.com to be removed.

• Contact information (name, email, phone) that guests provide directly to Max when they accept their invitation.
• RSVP responses (party size, dietary notes, sleeping arrangements, shirt sizes) submitted through the RSVP form.
• SMS opt-in records: the typed phone, full name, exact consent text shown at the time of opt-in, IP address, and user-agent (recordkeeping for TCR and carrier compliance).
• Photos, captions, and short videos that guests choose to upload to the year-by-year Yearbook galleries.
• Sea-Doo / personal-watercraft waiver signatures, including the typed signature, IP address, and user-agent at the time of signing (for legal recordkeeping).
• Standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) kept for security and abuse prevention.

• To send personal invitations and event-related messages via email and SMS to invited guests.
• To plan headcount, food, lodging, and shirt orders for the event.
• To display past-year photos to other invited guests inside the Yearbooks section of the site.
• To maintain a private signed-waiver ledger for liability purposes.

We use the following service providers strictly to operate the site and send guest communications. Each has its own privacy policy. None of these providers receive your contact information for their own marketing purposes:

• Resend — sends invitation and event emails on our behalf.
• Twilio — sends invitation and event SMS messages on our behalf.
• DigitalOcean & Coolify — host the website and database.
• Open-Meteo — provides the public weather forecast shown on the event hub (no personal data sent).

• Stop SMS messages: reply STOP to any message, or email benedictmt@gmail.com.
• Stop email messages: reply to any email and ask to be removed.
• See, correct, or delete your data: email benedictmt@gmail.com and we'll do it.

Information about minors is collected from their parent or legal guardian (the household primary contact). Minors do not independently sign up for or receive SMS messages from this site.

If we change this policy in a way that affects how we handle your information, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Major changes will be communicated to guests directly.
